Cocktails & Castoffs: A Cookbook From Dig, Issue 01
I serve on the advisory board for DIG Development in Gardening, a remarkable grassroots nonprofit that helps villagers in impoverished, HIV-ravaged areas of Africa start and maintain sustainable community gardens. Each year, I work with volunteers in hosting a fundraiser where top Atlanta chefs are challenged to produce zero-waste dishes to tell a bigger story of how reducing first-world food waste can make a difference in third-world countries. Last year I edited DIG’s first “cook-zine” featuring some of the creative ideas that can inspire home cooks to be more resourceful at home. These are sold through their website.
